As one of the fastest-growing segments of the salon and spa industry, estheticians perform facials, waxing, and other spa body treatments and need to know:
- Use of a wide variety of products (cleansing agents, lotions, wraps, oils, to name a few) and tools (lighted mirrors, steam machines, saunas and spas, rinsing apparatus)
- Recognize abnormalities in the skin and recommend effective treatments to correct those abnormalities
- Consultations
Going beyond the basics, we will teach you:
- Organization skills
- To be team players
- The 'why' and 'how' to communicate and establish strong trusting relationships with their guests
- Career options that include salon management, hair colorist, artistic director, photo stylist, make-up artist, or educator
Clock Hour Requirements: 600
- Full-time 30 hours per week for 20 weeks
- Part-time 20 hours per week for 30 weeks
